Statement on Church Disaffiliations and Disaffiliation Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Over the last few months, you have probably learned of churches that are in the process of disaffiliating from the United Methodist Church. We celebrate the good work of these churches and mourn the departure of these congregations, all while working through the disaffiliation process spelled out in The Book of Discipline.

Bishop Farr has become increasingly concerned about some of the statements made to these congregations and the lack of access some lay members have to the processes outlined in the Discipline.
